The happy plince and the nightingale and the rose

High above the city, on a tall column, stands the statue of the Happy Prince. He is covered all over with thin leaves of gold, for eyes he has two bright sapphires, and there is a large red ruby on his sword. (p.11)

The Happy Prince is a tale with multiple lessons. From one side it is the critic of the society that can be cruel and heartless and on the other side, it is about the compassion towards humans troubles.

The Happy Prince is a contemporary fairytale whose plot is surreal and it is placed into a modern society with real problems. Oscar Wild tried to state in a simple way the virtues and flaws of a person in all of his fairy tales and tried to criticize the society which is insensible.

The main character knew only about nice things and after that, he decided to open his lead heart to everyone in need. When he helped them he didn’t regret about the decorations taken down from him and he keeps on doing noble things with the help of a swallow. The swallow was the proof that everyone can do selfless things even though they would maybe be risking their lives. His love and devotion were rewarded with an eternal life.

The stolen white elephant

I heard the following curious story from a railway acquaintance. He was a gentleman of more than seventy years of age, and his good face and sincere manner put the stamp of truth on everything he said. (p.11)

It's a detective story. The king of Siam decided to give a white elephant to the Queen of England, as a gift. During the trip, the ship stops at the New York's harbour because a doctor would see the white elephant that was sick. Then, after two weeks travelling, the white elephant is stolen. The white elephant. The white elephant's deliver came back to New York City and looked for the police force. He was fortunate because the chief of the force, the celebrated Inspector Blunt, was there and decided to help him. In spector Blunt took notes about the elephant's eating habits and appearance, and printed photos. Then he sold the information to the newspapers. He also suggested a reward and sent lots of his men to look for the elephant. After some days, the white elephant was accused killing some people and destroying villages, but the search continued and the reward raised until one hundred thousand dollars...

The kingdom of the snow leopard

The two boys sat on a bench under a big old oak tree. There was a lawn in front of them and, in front of that, the huge iron gates of the school. The two boys often came and sat here after lessons. (p.11)

This is a story about a boy called Mahir who is a son of the king of the kingdom of snow leopard. He is studying in an American school. His intimate friend is an American boy

named Tom. Someone is looking at him from a place behind something and takes a picture. Mahir invites Tom to his conntry.

The garden party and sixpence

The weather was ideal. There could not have been a more perfect day for a gardrn party. Windless, warm, the sky without a cloud. And the blue was thinly covered with a haze of light gold, as it is sometimes in early summer. (p.11)

The main character is Laura, the daughter of the Sheridan family. There are some memorable scenes, but Laura's fresh sensibillity is drawn lively.Before the party begins, she learns that a nearby poor man had died in an accident, and Laura says she should stop the party. Ev
entually, the party will be overwhelmed by the mother nd party will be a success. Later, the party's remnants are delivered to the poor house where they died, and Laura is going to use it for the first time, experiencing the real death. Laura's words came out as "Forgive my hat." In front of the corpose, Laura says she is wearing a fancy hat and wants to say something, And Laura rushes out of lively parties to deadly floors, from rich to poor, Laura runs through mane gaps.

Salahadin was sitting in his office with his coat off. It was the mouth of May in Cairo and it was very hot. Salahadin stood up and turned on the fan. He was a young man, only twenty-eight years old. He was not very tall and quite thin. His black hair was cut very short. (p.10)

I read "The black cat" today. It is an action-packed detective story. Salahadin is an inspector in the Antiquities Department of the Egyptian police. His job is to protect Egyptian antiquities. After the death of a Europian archaelogist, Salahadin begins looking for a priceless statuette. His job soon becomes very dangerous as he closes in on a gang of international smugglers.

Ricky and the American girl

Ricky and the Ameran girl Ricky's world changed completely on a cold Friday afternoon in November. It was only five to four but it was already getting dark. Ricky was walking home from school, his bag hanging over his sholder. (p.11) I read "Ricky and the American girl" today. Ricky is a main character of this book and he is a bit of a genuiys at school. He never thinks of anything except maths and computers. That is until he meets Alexis, a beautiful American visiting his town. Suddenly, Ricky's world is upside down and all he can think of is the American girl.
